What customers say?

“ Houou is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant, and I often find myself craving it!!! Sometimes I go there for lunch, sometimes for drinks at night, and the fact that they offer takeout is super cool!! I've tried a variety of dishes, but my favorite is the famous Houou fried rice, also known as meat-topped fried rice!!! The fried rice itself is incredibly delicious, so the combination of the pork slices and sauce is incredible. The fried rice has naruto fish in it, which is perfect for me, as I love moist fried rice! To go with that, their gyoza are also amazing; each gyoza is handmade from scratch, and each one is incredibly satisfying and flavorful!!! They have a variety of delicious ramen dishes, and their shrimp soba is my favorite, so I highly recommend it for shrimp lovers! All of their a la carte dishes are also delicious, such as the Sichuan mapo tofu and yakitori, which have an addictive flavor of sansho pepper and are a perfect match with rice and sake. Of course, there are plenty of other great snacks, rice bowls, and limited-time menu items, but the next thing I'm aiming for is the yakisoba. The guy next to me was eating something that looked incredibly delicious. (lol) There's so much I want to try that it's hard to choose. This restaurant is always popular, so I recommend going early! ”

“ I went there for the fried rice. It was 11am during the Obon holiday season, and there was already a wait. There weren't many seats, so I was able to get in on the second rotation. After sitting down, I ordered the Phoenix Fried Rice without hesitation. It was served in about 10 minutes. There's a lot of smoke during cooking, typical of local Chinese restaurants, so be careful if you're wearing your favorite clothes or going out. The fried rice is absolutely delicious! Try it once. It's no wonder they say it has the best fried rice in Gunma. If I have the chance, I'll definitely go again. It's a restaurant I'll definitely return to. There's parking for about three cars in front of the store. It fills up quickly, so it depends on the timing. If you go before opening or time the rotation right, you might be able to get in quickly, but you'll need to wait. ”

“ Food: I ordered the Phoenix fried rice, my wife the shrimp fried rice, and we both ordered half a bowl of ramen. The Phoenix fried rice had about five slices of pork on top. They were soft and delicious, but two was enough for me, who is just under 60. The fried rice itself was very tasty. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice was also delicious. I thought the half-ramen portion might be a little small for noodles, but the amount of fried rice was so large that it was just right. Service: A customer who arrived on foot and was waiting outside was given a free hand warmer. The owner and female staff seem to have been former delinquents, but they were very kind and welcoming, and it was a pleasant dining experience for the first time in Gunma in a long time. Atmosphere: There is parking for five cars, and I was lucky to find one, but it might be better to park in the parking lot of the Yaoko supermarket a little further away and walk over. The restaurant has 10 seats, including counter and table seating. The interior is small and old, but not dirty. The gyoza and yakisoba that were brought to us were also said to be very delicious, making this a restaurant that makes you want to come back again. ”

“ I visited for lunch on the weekend. There was a bit of a wait, but I was able to get in after about 15 minutes. This is actually my second time here. Last time I had the Phoenix fried rice and it was delicious, so this time I went for the regular fried rice. I've eaten fried rice at many places, and it comes in a variety of styles, from light and fluffy to moist, but the fried rice here is truly delicious! The balance of the fried rice, saltiness, and ingredients is simply exquisite. This is definitely one of the top three delicious fried rice I've ever eaten. The soup that comes with it is also delicious. Thank you for the meal. I don't come here often, but when I'm in the area, it's a restaurant I'll definitely stop by. I recommend it! ”

“ It was so delicious! It was worth the wait in the cold. I was surprised at how big the gyoza were, but when I tried them, I was shocked! Delicious! I've never been a fan of big gyoza and have never found them delicious, but these gyoza were absolutely delicious. I had them with just vinegar. I saw the fried rice on Instagram and fell in love at first sight—how adorable! (๑∀๑) I couldn't wait to try it. The pork was moist, and the fried rice was just my favorite—it was delicious. I was pregnant and had just finished morning sickness, so I couldn't eat garlic, so it was a bit of a thrill to return to Chinese food, but it was delicious. I'm so glad I came! ”

“ I had the Phoenix Fried Rice. Of course, the fried rice itself was delicious. But what really impressed me was the pork slices on top. They were silky smooth and melted in your mouth, and the fat melted pleasantly on your tongue. The fried rice came with a separate spoon for the soup, making it easy to eat, so you could eat every grain of rice. This thoughtful touch is something you won't see at other restaurants, and it's a nice touch. If you order a large portion of fried rice, the amount of soup will also increase. By the way, the toilets are Japanese-style only. ”

“ The food was savory. The parking is a challenge but it’s worth it. ^_^ ”

“ I finally got to visit this restaurant that an FM radio DJ raved about. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, but the restaurant itself isn't particularly large and fills up quickly. The parking lot in front of the restaurant fills up quickly with even three cars. ???? I ordered their specialty, Phoenix Fried Rice, and three gyoza. The gyoza were brought out first, and they looked about twice the size of regular gyoza. Not only were they big, but the filling inside was juicy and the juices spilled out. Truly delicious. The main dish, Phoenix Fried Rice, came topped with four or five pieces of roast pork The visual impact, the young and tender roast pork, and the delicious taste—all of these factors make this a 5 out of 5, without a doubt. Personally, I think. The only drawback is the small parking lot. However, given the restaurant's size, this might be just right. ”
